If everyone lived with their future in mind I do believe that they would think about their future. I think that people would exercise daily. They will make time to exercise so their health can be in good health. If people lived with their future in mind then I feel they would change their eating habits. They would eat the recommended servings of the food guide pyramid. They would eat more fruits and vegetables. Some people would maybe stop smoking knowing they are putting their lives and lungs in danger they would think about that. They would also consider their consumption of alcohol because drinking also puts a person life in danger.

I agree, the future perspective is the key. But how to get people to think like that creates an unresolved dilemma. With new technology you can digitally manipulate images of yourself to appear 10, 20, or 50 years older. If every smoker had an opportunity to do this…do you think they would quit? I would hope so but chances are not good. Thinking ahead can be very challenging especially when our society is complacent.
Take a diseased liver from years of alcoholism and show it to a teenager and try to get them to not drink so much alcohol…would they quit?
It is extremely difficult to find the magic trick or the perfect solution yet like you I think it lies in futuristic thinking. For me, I want to live to old age and stay as healthy as possible therefore I am going to have to be willing to make changes along the way in my prevention techniques, health assessment behaviors, but most importantly my lifestyle choices in food, exercise, and stress.
At least our class has a really good opportunity to set the example…and get futuristic about our health.

Hi Michelle, I totally agree with
Hi Michelle, I tollay agree with you and I thought your post was very informative. If people would only exercise, eat healthy, and stay away from alcohol they would be living with their future in mind.
